Everything We Know About Harry Styles’ New Album So Far

Welcome to Harry’s House. 🏠

BY ABBY DUPES APR 4, 2022

This is the news that Harries have been waiting for since Harry Styles’ second album Fine Line was released back in December of 2019 — he’s finally gracing us with more music. His third album, Harry’s House, comes out this spring.

Of course, his most loyal fans aren’t totally surprised. Since it was announced that he’d be a headliner of this year’s Coachella, rumors swirled that he’d have fresh tracks to promote.

Here’s what we know about Harry Styles’ third studio album, Harry’s House, so far.

Harry’s House won’t be released until May

Harry recently shared a short teaser for Harry’s House, set to the tune of instrumental music (maybe a snippet of one of the album’s songs?). In the clip, we see Harry walking onto an empty stage as the front of a house rises behind him. The video finishes with the caption, “Harry’s House, the new album by Harry Styles, May 20.”

Taking to Twitter, Harry also released the album’s cover art. He captioned the pic of a seemingly upside-down living room, where he is standing on the ceiling, “Harry’s House. May 20th.”

The possibility of a new album was also teased last week with the appearance of a curious website, YouAreHome.co. It featured a door that opens to different images when you roll your mouse over the graphic. Now, when you hover over the door, a cropped version of the album art appears. Accounts for “You Are Home” also popped up on Twitter and Instagram last week, where an image of the website’s door picture is posted daily.

Harries predicted this wayyy before the site launch though. Check out these fan theories:

The lead single, “As It Was,” dropped in April

While we patiently wait for the album’s full tracklist, Harry tided us over by sharing the name of the lead single off of Harry’s House on March 28.

He took to Insta to drop the good news. In the images, Harry’s back is displayed, showing off his tattoos and a red sequined number created by Spanish fashion designer, Arturo Obegero. The three-pic post is simply captioned “As It Was. April 1.”

But wait – there’s more. On March 30, Harry blessed us with a dizzying teaser. Giving absolute microwave vibes, the singer is perched on a rotating platform, showing off his fire jumpsuit that first appeared in the Instagram teaser photo set. The video fades out with a reminder of the song title “As It Was” and the release date “April 1”. As if we could forget, Harold!

Harry also told Hits Radio that “As It Was” was the last song he wrote for the record. “You know, as it was being written, it was a lot slower,” the Pleasing mogul said before revealing it started out as more of a piano ballad before adding the upbeat synths.

In addition to “As It Was,” fans started to see posters popping up in cities across the world that picture Harry sitting atop a large ball, wearing a striped set. The posters also say “It’s not the same as it was.”

Has Harry dropped any Easter eggs ahead of the album’s release?

It looks like the One Direction alum may have taken a page out of his ex, Taylor Swift‘s book when it comes to Easter eggs. Harry sat down for an interview with Hits Radio’s Jordan Lee to chat about all things “As It Was” on April 1. Naturally, the host asked Harry whether he’d been dropping serious Easter eggs ahead of the release of his album, Harry’s House. The question came after fans on TikTok pointed out several times where the singer made reference to houses and homes during the North American leg of Love on Tour. “I think sometimes, maybe, people go back and find coincidences that feel like I was dropping hints,” Harry said. “Maybe I was, and maybe I wasn’t, and I think some of them make me look a little madder [than I am].”

He then went on to explain the meaning and inspiration behind the album. “Calling the album Harry’s House…was an idea that I had for a while and I think when I originally had it, it was about a specific house and a kind of geographical thing,” he said. “I think during the process of the album, that became much more of an internal journey of finding home and peace with oneself… it kind of went through a lot of different meanings, and I think that all of the meanings it went through are kind of what makes it what it ended up as.”

BRB packing my suitcase, preparing for my stay at Harry’s House on May 20.
